San Francisco Peer Court offers Leadership Programs and Restorative Justice Alternatives for Youth 12-17 who live or attend school in San Francisco.
The San Franicso Juvenile Justice System has been host to a number of recognized problems, inadequacies and failures, including: Disproportionate Minority Confinement, the often unnecessary incarceration of young people, rampant recidivism and a general lack of accountability to the community.
As San Francisco Peer Court continues to grow and expand with the needs of the City, we create more opportunities for youth leadership and community partnership with the juvenile justice system, and we continue to advocate for Restorative Justice Alternatives for Youth.
Restorative Justice Alternatives for Youth -- RJAY -- Peer Court's expansion includes the RJAY Program. You can help in this effort in one of many volunteer positions, such as performing community advocacy for Restorative Justice alternatives, working as a Teen Attorney Mentor, volunteer Case Manager, Teen Attorney or Student Juror.
